I know 40-45 year olds that, with the help of the right make-up, could pull off a youngish 70 year old.

Maybe they just want to avoid restricting their potential candidate pool too much.

As for you... Samuelson is going strong at 93, so I really don't see the problem. That generation has several members that are quite active and respected...
